The Power of Community in 2025 

As we move through 2025, one truth is unmistakable: community is the multiplier of progress. In a world where AI transforms workflows and Web3 continues expanding across geographies, the strength of our communities determines how quickly we learn, adapt and lead.

Across Web3, AI and the intersection of both ecosystems, three themes have emerged this year.

Communities are becoming engines of accelerated learning. The open-source ethos that shaped the early foundations of both AI and Web3 continues to drive today’s breakthroughs, as builders share insights, experiments and playbooks in real time. This collective learning accelerates the entire ecosystem, proving once again that high potential compounds fastest when surrounded by other high potential people.

Communities are becoming bridges across disciplines. As AI and Web3 evolve, builders increasingly draw from multiple domains, combining product thinking, token design, AI development and market insight to shape what comes next. The most transformative ideas now emerge from teams who anchor their work in a clear problem, design around human-AI collaboration, embrace continuous improvement and use open-source innovation as leverage. This cross-disciplinary creativity reflects the culture of high standards and high potential we strive to build at Decasonic.

Communities are becoming anchors of belonging in a volatile landscape. They are also emerging as catalysts that drive meaningful change. As technology and markets evolve at a rapid pace, communities surface early signals, test new ideas and push innovation forward. People come together to understand change, create progress and pursue the optimism that new technologies make possible.

Web3 x AI FrensGiving

Last week, we hosted a fireside conversation with John McBride of Norton Rose Fulbright on the Frontier of AI Patents. The discussion centered on the internal AI work we have been building at Decasonic, including our provisional patent Reinforcement Learning Expert Network (RLEN). RLEN is a breakthrough in how AI learns from and enhances human expertise. It embeds reinforcement learning into a network of AI clones and expert agents that reflect our accumulated investment knowledge and operational experience. Operating within our AI OS, RLEN transforms experience into intelligence by enabling agents to critique, reward and improve one another’s outputs with human feedback loops. This structure compounds insights and consistency across the firm’s workflows and turns collective learning into a scalable advantage. The patent marks a key milestone in our mission to build AI native venture models where AI flourishes people.

As innovation accelerated this year, it became clear that scaling human intelligence is essential for future proofing our work. At FrensGiving, we shared how we design internal systems that turn data, experience and pattern recognition into an intelligent network that helps us move faster and think more clearly. This reinforced our belief in building AI systems that expand human capability. The insights from the conversation also highlighted that while AI accelerates progress, it is the learning that happens within the community that strengthens ideas, sharpens reasoning and advances the frontier.

We believe the strongest investment insights come from the combination of human creativity, analytical depth and machine intelligence, which is why we operate as investor operators who are both AI native and crypto native. We use these tools in our daily work, but we also innovate and build with them to help advance the broader Web3 and AI ecosystem and to be meaningful, value-add partners to founders. During the conversation, we reflected on key principles that guide how we build with AI: anchor product vision in the real problem, design systems that amplify human ingenuity, look for the moment when an AI product becomes truly usable, embrace continuous improvement, lean on domain specialization as an advantage and recognize the power of open-source innovation. These insights shape our AI patent work and reinforce our long-term commitment to lead with integrity, build with intention and contribute to the progress happening across the frontier.

This year’s FrensGiving reminded us of the power of community. It showed how local leadership can spark global leadership and how in-person gatherings strengthen collaboration, deepen relationships and create the momentum needed to push the frontier forward. What Community Is Teaching Us

What our community continues to teach us is that AI becomes most powerful when it strengthens human connection. At last year’s Web3 Investor Day, we introduced AI Agent Emma as our first AI concierge to help attendees discover shared interests, build new connections and navigate the event with confidence. The experience showed us that AI can elevate in-person interactions and support the meaningful relationships that move this ecosystem forward. This insight continues to shape how we build, reminding us that AI should enhance the way communities learn, collaborate and imagine together.
